Salman Khan mourns Kuku Kohli's death, offers support to grieving wife Aruna Irani: 'My heart goes out to you'

Veteran Bollywood filmmaker Kuku Kohli passed away on August 25 at the age of 77 after suffering a massive heart attack. The news of his death came as a shock to the industry, prompting an outpouring of tributes from his colleagues and friends. Among the first to offer condolences was actor Salman Khan, who took to social media to express his grief.

In a heartfelt message, Khan posted "Rest in peace Kuki ji, Aruna ji, my heart goes out to you. May God give u strength." The message quickly gained traction, becoming one of the most shared tributes following Kohli's passing. Kohli's funeral was attended by several prominent figures in the industry, including Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Sham Kaushal, Ashoke Pandit, and Rajpal Yadav.

Ajay Devgn, whose career Kohli had launched with the 1991 film Phool Aur Kaante, also shared a touching tribute on social media. Devgn expressed how much faith Kohli had placed in him at the beginning of his journey, crediting him for altering the course of his life. Phool Aur Kaante went on to become a major box-office hit, earning Devgn the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

The director's legacy extended beyond this film, as he directed several other notable movies, including Kohraam, Suhaag, Anari No. 1, Haqeeqat, and Woh Tera Naam Tha. Kohli's final film as a director was released in 2004. Medical reports suggest that Kohli had been in good health prior to his sudden illness on Monday evening. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where he collapsed mid-conversation with family and suffered a fatal heart attack.

Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead around 5 pm. Surviving Kohli are his wife Aruna Irani and two children, Pooja and Karishma, from his first marriage to Rita Kohli.
