Rotary Club of Accra-Airport celebrates 25 years with documentary launch

The Rotary Club of Accra-Airport celebrated its 25th anniversary with the unveiling of a commemorative coffee table book and the premiere of a documentary detailing the club's history, service, and impact over the past quarter-century. The event took place at the African Regent Hotel in Accra and was attended by Rotary leaders, Rotarians, Rotaractors, partners, families of former members, and distinguished guests.

Rotarian David Kwatia Nyante, the current President of the club, emphasized the importance of the occasion as an opportunity to honor the individuals and partnerships that have shaped the club's journey. He paid tribute to late Past District Governor Adotei Brown, whose vision and efforts were instrumental in the club's chartering.

The President also highlighted the club's expansion, now boasting 74 members, and its contribution to the broader Rotary family, including the establishment of other Rotary and Rotaract clubs and support for The Rotary Foundation and PolioPlus.

The commemorative book and documentary were conceived during the 2024-2025 Rotary year as part of the club's 25th anniversary celebrations. The theme of the project is "Our Rotary Story — Celebrating the Past, Capturing the Present and Inspiring the Future." District Governor Jack Andrews Dotse (PhD), the guest of honor, commended the club on reaching this milestone and encouraged members to consider their role in carrying forward the club's legacy.

The Governor acknowledged the club's growth from 22 charter members to 74, and highlighted the club's role in extending Rotary's reach by establishing other clubs. He emphasized that the true legacy of Rotary is measured by the service and impact made by its members, not by titles, awards, or statistics. The club's Coffee Table Book serves as a record of the club's institutional history, while the documentary provides a visual account of its journey, history, people, projects, and aspirations for the future.
