Romanian president announces joint commission meeting with Ukraine to discuss minority-language education

Romanian President Nicușor Dan held a joint press conference on Thursday with the presidents of Moldova and Ukraine, Maia Sandu and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in Chisinau. During the event, President Dan announced a planned meeting of the Ukrainian-Romanian commission to discuss minority-language education issues in Ukraine and Romania. The Romanian leader expressed his pleasure at the cooperation between their countries and stated that this meeting further proves their collaboration.

During the trilateral talks with the presidents of Moldova and Ukraine, the parties discussed various topics including energy, infrastructure, security issues, and the European integration of Ukraine and Moldova. They also touched upon infrastructure and energy projects related to interconnectors, with Romania planning to expand the highway toward the corridor and deeper into Moldova towards the northern border with Ukraine. This move aims to foster connectivity between their nations.

President Dan emphasized that they discussed the threats facing their countries and supported the European path towards the EU for these two nations, which Romania fully backs. Independence Day for Moldova was celebrated on Thursday.
