Pune: NCP-SP Holds 'Unemployed Rights Elgar' Rally, Demands Jobs For Youth - PHOTOS

On Thursday, the Pune city unit of the NCP-SP organized an 'Unemployed Rights Elgar - Tricolour Two-Wheeler Rally' to demand immediate action from the government to tackle increasing unemployment and generate job opportunities for educated youth.

The protest began at the NCP office and proceeded towards the Pune District Collector's Office. Notable attendees included former minister Harshvardhan Patil, party leaders, workers, students, and unemployed youth. Protesters carried the Tricolour and voiced concerns over the challenges faced by young individuals who complete their education but remain unemployed.

Former Minister Harshvardhan Patil emphasized that employment is not a favor but a right of the youth, urging the government to take immediate and concrete steps to address the situation. The NCP highlighted that thousands of Pune and Maharashtra residents are preparing for competitive exams and government jobs but face uncertainty regarding job opportunities.

The party demanded that vacant positions in government departments be filled promptly and that recruitment processes be conducted transparently and on time. They also sought more employment opportunities in the private sector, urging the government to attract investments and strengthen industries capable of creating jobs for young people.

At the rally, NCP president Vishal Tambe, party leader Shrikant Patil, and senior leader Sopan (Kaka Chavan) encouraged students, unemployed youth, and party workers to participate in large numbers. They urged the government to announce specific measures and a clear roadmap for employment generation, emphasizing that unemployment affects not only salaries but also confidence, financial independence, and future plans for educated youth.

Unemployed youth Shrikant Kadam expressed frustration at the long wait for recruitment and the unfairness in the process, stating that every delayed recruitment means another year lost for young people. The rally concluded at the District Collector's Office, where the NCP presented its demands to the administration. The party vowed to continue raising the issue of unemployment and pressuring the government for action if concerns for young people are not addressed.
