PlayStation Plus is getting Sniper Elite: Resistance, plus a JRPG worth your time

Sony has announced its PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for September, featuring highly anticipated titles that are sure to captivate gamers. Sniper Elite: Resistance, a World War 2 stealth shooter, is the standout game among the four offerings, which also include MLB The Show 26, Chained Echoes, and Wobbly Life. All four games will be available from September 1 until October 5.

Although Sniper Elite: Resistance does not significantly deviate from its predecessor, Sniper Elite 5, it maintains the series' blend of stealth, expansive levels, and brutal killcams. Players assume the role of Harry Hawker, who joins the French Resistance in occupied France to thwart another Nazi superweapon plot. The game's level design is a major highlight, with diverse approaches to missions through stealth, building, and alternate routes.

Co-op play is available for the full campaign, and competitive multiplayer supports up to 16 players. Meanwhile, MLB The Show 26 brings Road to the Show and Diamond Dynasty to PS5, accompanied by Jump Start Bundles for PlayStation Plus members. Chained Echoes, a 16-bit-style JRPG, stands out with its turn-based combat, pixel art, mechs, and exploration.

Despite mixed opinions on its storyline, the game's combat and side content have received widespread acclaim. Wobbly Life rounds out the lineup with a lighthearted open-world sandbox for up to four players, either locally or online. As the month draws to a close, PlayStation Plus members can claim the games until August 31, including Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, Big Walk, and Signalis.

Meanwhile, Rockstar Games' GTA 6 has provided glimpses of its stunning beaches and bustling nightclubs, but it's the small details that truly set the game apart. A recent Deep Dive from Dazed revealed that factors like diet, exercise, and exhaustion can visibly alter the characters' appearances. While not entirely groundbreaking, Rockstar's attention to these details demonstrates their commitment to creating an immersive experience.

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, six standout reveals were showcased, offering something for every type of gamer. Among these, standout titles include Nvidia's RTX Spark, which brings gaming enhancements from Nvidia's RTX family to select games, including EA Sports F1 25, Apex Legends, Anno 117: Pax Romana, ARC Raiders, and THE FINALS. Nvidia is also working with EA on native Javelin Anticheat support for RTX Spark.
