Parkonic announces free parking plan for Prophet Mohammed's birthday holiday

Private parking firm Parkonic has revealed a free parking scheme across the UAE during the upcoming public holiday commemorating Prophet Mohammed's birthday. On Wednesday, the Roads and Transport Authority announced that all public parking spaces in Dubai would be exempt from charges on Friday, with the exception of multistorey car parks.

Parkonic subsequently stated on Thursday that its operated parking spaces in Abu Dhabi, including Shams Boutik, Al Wahda Mall, and Dalma Mall, would be free. Similar free parking provisions have been announced for locations in Dubai, such as SME Business Village and Lulu Silicon Central Mall. Additionally, free parking will be offered in Tilal Al Ghaf area and Dubai Silicon Oasis on Friday.

Lulu supermarkets in Sharjah's Muweilah, Buhaira, and Bu Tina neighborhoods will also provide complimentary parking. It is noted that public holiday parking arrangements might differ in other Parkonic-managed sites. The exact tariffs, free parking periods, and public holiday arrangements are not exclusively controlled by the company.

Prophet Mohammed's birthday was observed on Tuesday, but the public holiday for both public and private sector employees will occur on Friday, leading to a three-day weekend. Dubai bus travelers should utilize the E101 service from Ibn Battuta station, while the E100 service from Al Ghubaiba station will not be operating from now until Sunday. Passengers are advised to consult the S hail app for the most recent bus timetables.
