Packers add depth at tight end by signing veteran Jonnu Smith to 1-year deal

The Green Bay Packers have bolstered their tight end corps by signing veteran Jonnu Smith to a one-year contract. The deal, announced by Rosenhaus Sports representing Smith, was highlighted on Thursday through a social media post. Smith, 31 years old, is expected to provide ample coverage for starting tight end Tucker Kraft, who is set to return from a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Smith's previous season with the Pittsburgh Steelers saw him catch 38 passes for 222 yards and score two touchdowns in 17 games. Over his career, Smith has amassed 345 receptions for 3,529 yards and 30 touchdowns. This marks Smith's fifth NFL team, having played with New England, Atlanta, Miami, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee.
