No More Groupings, We’re One Big Family, Saraki Charges Kwara PDP on Harmony

Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, recently hosted Senator Saliu Mustapha and Dr. Baba Giya Kolo, both recent converts to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at his residence in Ilorin alongside their supporters. The former leaders were welcomed warmly by Saraki, who praised their decision to join the PDP, describing it as a courageous step towards rebuilding and advancing Kwara State.

Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki's Press Officer on Local Matters, highlighted the courage of the two leaders and their supporters, urging PDP members across Kwara State to unite as one family, putting aside past divisions. Saraki emphasized the importance of working together, regardless of past affiliations, stating "There is no more G1 or G2; today, we belong to one big family and should operate as such."

He also commended Mustapha's knowledge of PDP structure members, noting it demonstrated a strong historical connection. Looking towards the future, Saraki urged PDP members to focus on winning the 2027 elections, warning that the APC under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq remains their common political adversary. He stressed the significance of power-sharing and inclusive governance, urging all PDP candidates to honor the sacrifices made by the people and ensure that the benefits of democracy are evenly distributed when they are elected.

Senator Mustapha expressed gratitude to the PDP family under Saraki's leadership, as well as the State Working Committee led by Hon. Issa Adamu Bawa, and other party elders for their warm reception. He reiterated his commitment to working with the PDP family to eliminate the perceived dictatorship of someone believing Kwara is his personal property.
