NCoS assures staff of Osun election allowance payment

The Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, has urged victims of election-related violence from the August 15 Osun governorship election to submit their claims to the state’s Election Violence Relief Committee. Egbedun, who chairs the committee, made this announcement during its inaugural meeting held in the state.

The committee's primary responsibility, stated in a press release by Egbedun's Chief Press Secretary, Olamide Tiamiyu, is to listen to victims, verify their claims, and ensure they receive the appropriate relief. The committee has already started gathering complaints from victims. Egbedun assured the victims of Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration of their support.

He emphasized that the committee would handle the relief process fairly, transparently, and without bias, and any case submitted would be treated with utmost seriousness. Victims who are still receiving treatment in hospitals due to injuries sustained during the election period are advised to come forward, preferably through their relatives or representatives, to present their cases.

The committee will contact the hospitals involved to ensure these individuals receive the necessary care. The committee also commended the Adeleke Dynasty for sponsoring scholarships for the children of those who tragically lost their lives during the violence. This act was described as a "remarkable demonstration of humanity, compassion, and commitment to the welfare of vulnerable families."
