Nada, MAG seek new MoU to strengthen drug prevention efforts

SEPANG: The National Anti-Drugs Agency (Nada) and Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) are negotiating a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) to bolster their joint efforts against drug and substance abuse in the aviation industry. Nada's director-general, Datuk Ruslin Jusoh, revealed that the proposed MoU was a key topic during a recent meeting with MAG's CEO, Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar.

He emphasized that the cooperation aims to enhance both organizations' dedication to drug prevention and enforcement, as well as raise awareness about the dangers of illicit substances. During the meeting, Ruslin discussed the implementation of targeted prevention programs, such as MAG's "Tekad" Drug-Free Workplace initiative, at MAG-owned facilities.

He stressed the importance of this proactive measure in maintaining the safety and integrity of aviation operations. The collaboration is anticipated to foster a safer, healthier, and drug-free work environment for Malaysia's aviation sector, following the arrest of a Malaysian pilot in Indonesia on drug smuggling charges.
