Mukesh Khanna refused crores, won’t let Ranveer Singh play Shaktimaan: ‘He can be villain’

Mukesh Khanna, the actor known for his iconic superhero character Shaktimaan, has vehemently refused to allow Ranveer Singh to portray the character in an upcoming film adaptation. Khanna believes that only a fresh face can effectively embody the positive and powerful persona of Shaktimaan. At a recent interview, Khanna expressed his strong opposition to the idea, stating that established stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh lack the necessary image and face for the role.

He admitted to blocking Sony India and Sony International from proceeding with the film and offered the part of Kilwish, the antagonist in Shaktimaan, to Ranveer Singh at his own office. Khanna emphasized that Ranveer's energetic nature and face suited the character of Khilji in Padmaavat but not Shaktimaan, which requires a positive and powerful image.

Despite the commercial potential, Khanna prioritized his principles and did not take the offered cheque for the role. He expressed disappointment in those who pressured him to accept the offer, explaining that his decision was based on preserving Shaktimaan's legacy and not compromising on its positive portrayal.
