Mourinho identifies next major area for improvement at Real Madrid – report

Jose Mourinho has identified the need for further defensive improvements at Real Madrid, despite the team's strong start to the new La Liga season. The Portuguese manager has expressed satisfaction with the attacking progress made by his team but emphasized the need to address defensive lapses. Real Madrid has conceded goals immediately after scoring against both Espanyol and Real Sociedad, which has concerned Mourinho as these moments represent lapses in concentration.

He believes that reducing such defensive mistakes is of utmost priority and wants his entire team, starting from the forwards and extending to goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, to be involved defensively. So far, Madrid's attacking efforts have been impressive, with 21 attempts against Espanyol and 20 against Sociedad, resulting in six goals and hitting the woodwork twice.

However, with only four pre-season fixtures and two competitive matches under Mourinho, the team still has significant room for improvement defensively.
