Motif challenges national AI model project after elimination

Artificial intelligence (AI) firm Motif Technologies has challenged its removal from the second evaluation round of the government's initiative to create a national AI foundation model. The company is demanding the release of comprehensive scores and evaluation standards, as well as a reevaluation of the results. Motif Technologies submitted an official objection to the Ministry of Science and ICT on Thursday, pointing out that its Motif 3 model secured the highest score on a global AI benchmark but was eliminated due to the lowest overall score in the government's evaluation.

"Motif 3 received 47 points in the overall performance index, attaining the highest score among the participating models, but was excluded with the lowest score in the government's outcome announcement," the company declared. "We request a detailed disclosure of the evaluation scores and a reassessment." Motif's objection was not intended to reverse the outcome or advance to the following stage; rather, it aimed to enhance transparency in the government's AI model evaluation process.
