Mimi Duah declares support for Hawa Koomson as next NPP National Women’s Organiser

Mimi Duah, Deputy National Women Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has voiced her backing for Mavis Hawa Koomson to become the party’s next National Women’s Organiser. In her endorsement, Duah highlighted four reasons why she thinks Koomson is the most suitable individual to lead the party’s women’s division. Firstly, Koomson is a motherly figure who hails from the grassroots, known for her forgiving attitude and talent in promoting unity among party members.

She described Koomson as a "true grassroots mother" who possesses the ability to forgive, unify and guide party women, ensuring everyone is united under the women’s wing. Secondly, Duah praised Koomson's extensive experience, pointing out her previous roles as a Constituency Women’s Organiser, Member of Parliament and Minister of State.

This background, she argued, makes Koomson an ideal person to provide effective leadership as National Women’s Organiser. Thirdly, Duah highlighted Koomson's ability to use her extensive network and business connections to secure essential resources for women organisers across all levels, such as logistics, training and financial support.

Lastly, Duah emphasized that the NPP, as an opposition party, requires fearless, bold and assertive leadership at the women’s front to inspire all women organisers at regional, constituency and polling station levels, as the party prepares for the 2028 election. She firmly stated, "We need a Women’s Organiser who has been tested, who is bold, who understands grassroots women, and who can lead us to victory in 2028. Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson is that leader."
