Liverpool eye Sarr after Brighton reject Minteh bids

Liverpool are considering a potential signing of Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr following their two unsuccessful bids for Yankuba Minteh. The Premier League club had offered £50 million and £60 million for the 22-year-old right-sided winger, both of which Brighton rejected. Now, Liverpool is shifting its focus to Sarr, who scored 21 goals last season for Palace.

While Palace is reportedly not open to selling Sarr, Liverpool has reportedly made a bid for the Senegalese attacker, though both clubs have denied this. Additionally, Liverpool is also pursuing Paris St-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, aiming to make two signings before the transfer deadline. Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage expressed hope that both Sarr and teammate Jean-Philippe Mateta would stay with the club.

Sage confirmed Sarr's current contract status and noted the player's injury might impact the situation. Mateta, like Sarr, faces an uncertain future after arguing that the last year of his contract is invalid, but Sage believes the striker is content with his current position.
