Liverpool 2026/27 Champions League fixtures: League phase opponents revealed for Reds

In the Champions League's league phase, Liverpool will face Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan. The six-time European champions have been eliminated by eventual champions PSG in the last two seasons, but with new manager Andoni Iraola, Reds fans hope for another deep European run. Liverpool was placed in pot one due to their UEFA coefficient, alongside Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Barcelona.

The 36 teams participating in the league phase are divided into four pots of eight teams based on their UEFA coefficient. Opponents are generated by automated software and are selected from each pot, with two teams chosen from each - one for a home game and one for an away game. Teams cannot play against another team from the same country, and are limited to facing no more than two teams from a single country.

Teams finishing in the top eight advance directly to the last 16, while the next 16 teams move on to the play-off stage, with eight of those 16 advancing to the final round of the league phase. Kick-off dates and times are yet to be finalized in the next 48 hours.
