Kim Ha-seong delivers walk-off hit for Braves

In a rare bright moment for the Atlanta Braves, veteran infielder Kim Ha-seong delivered a walk-off hit against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday at Truist Park. Kim, who had been struggling in his least productive season in the majors, pinch-hit for Victor Mederos with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Facing left-hander Brock Stewart, Kim struggled through a poor start to his at-bat, taking three straight balls, a fastball for a strike, and three more fastballs fouled off.

On the eighth pitch, a fastball, Kim connected with a base hit that left fielder Teoscar Hernandez could not catch. With runners at first and second, Lane Thomas scored as Kim beat Hernandez's throw easily. This was Kim's first hit since June 3, marking his first walk-off hit of the season. The 30-year-old, a former Gold Glove winner, had been relegated to the backup role recently, making his walk-off single a special moment for the Braves.
