Karni Sena factions clash at Ujjain dhaba, its vice-president, eatery owner killed

A deadly clash erupted at a Ujjain dhaba, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and several injuries, according to police reports. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday when two factions of the Karni Sena organisation, each claiming leadership, engaged in a violent confrontation at a dhaba in the Kanipura area.

The victims identified were 42-year-old Karni Sena district vice-president Rahul Darbar, alias Vijay Pratap, from Nimavnasa, and the dhaba owner, 35-year-old Jitendra Pawar, from Undasa. Both were stabbed to death, while several others sustained injuries. The police registered an FIR for murder and rioting against five named accused - Shakti Singh, Sonu Banjara, Arpit, Ramesh Mahana, and Anna - along with 15-20 unidentified individuals.

The dispute escalated from a verbal argument over a Karni Sena post, which involved Darbar and Shakti Singh. The situation escalated, with over a dozen men, including Darbar's associates, arriving with knives and swords to confront the opposing group. Darbar was fatally wounded during the attack, succumbing to his injuries later that morning.

Pawar, who was present at the dhaba, was also fatally stabbed. The incident has triggered tension in the area, with Karni Sena members gathering at Charak Hospital, where Darbar received treatment before succumbing to his wounds. Police are investigating the incident, examining CCTV footage, and searching for the accused to establish the sequence of events.
