Karni Sena factions clash at Ujjain dhaba, its vice-president, eatery owner killed

A deadly clash erupted at a Ujjain dhaba between two rival factions of the Karni Sena, resulting in the deaths of the group's vice-president and the eatery owner, along with several injuries, according to police. The confrontation arose from a dispute over an official position within the organisation. The two deceased were identified as Karni Sena district vice-president Rahul Darbar, 42, and dhaba owner Jitendra Pawar, 35.

Police have registered a murder and rioting complaint against five named accused, including Shakti Singh and Sonu Banjara, as well as 15 to 20 unidentified individuals. The incident began with a verbal disagreement between Darbar and Shakti Singh over the appointment to a Karni Sena post, which escalated into physical violence. Darbar allegedly retaliated when Singh slapped him, and the argument intensified when Darbar's supporters attacked Singh.

With the help of his associate and brother, Shakti Singh returned to the scene with weapons, leading to the fatal attack. Darbar succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital, while Pawar, the eatery owner, died later in a nearby bush. Two other men, including Shakti Singh and Shravan Kumar, were also injured. Tensions have risen in the area, with Karni Sena members gathering at a hospital. Police are investigating the incident using CCTV footage and searching for the accused.
