Kamya Punjabi recalls mother selling mangalsutra for her treatment: ‘My father was crying’

Kamya began working at a young age to support her family, earning Rs 150 daily at exhibitions before transitioning into the entertainment industry.

She emphasized the profound impact of her father's emotional struggle during her prolonged hospitalization. Her mother's selflessness in selling her jewelry, including the mangalsutra, stayed with Kamya. After starting her career, Kamya made it a priority to return the losses her mother incurred. She also took on additional responsibilities at home, eventually helping her sisters pursue their education and support their marriages.
