Television actress Kamya Punjabi recently shared her painful experiences of domestic violence and the challenges she faced in her first marriage to businessman Bunty Negi. Kamya, who has a daughter named Aara from this marriage, spoke about her decision to leave the relationship after enduring years of unhappiness and abuse. She revealed that she used to wear makeup to hide the physical marks left by the violence, feeling ashamed of her own life while presenting a different persona to the world.

Kamya's turning point came when her daughter witnessed one of the fights, prompting her to pack her belongings and leave the house. After spending some time away, she returned to her life without any emotional pain. In her divorce settlement, Kamya chose to forgo alimony and settle for a peaceful separation, giving up her share in a company her husband had invested in.
