Kaduna pays N6.7bn monthly on inherited loans, says Uba Sani

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani revealed that his administration pays N6.7 billion monthly from the state's Federation Account Allocation Committee revenue to service loans inherited from the previous administration. Sani made this disclosure on Channels Television's Politics Today, stating that the payments would continue until 2048.

He emphasized that his administration had not borrowed any money since taking office and had been prudent in managing the state's finances. Sani clarified that he was not complaining about the financial situation he inherited, as he had only been working with the inherited loans. He further added that the monthly debt repayment would continue for over two decades, as confirmed by the Debt Management Office records.

Sani expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support and stressed the importance of data and statistics in his statements. He also highlighted the significance of prudent financial management, stating that it involved careful consideration in the investment of government funds.
