Jazz Becomes First Operator to Reach 1,000 5G Sites

Pakistan's leading telecommunications provider, Jazz, has achieved a significant milestone by reaching 1,000 live 5G sites, marking the most extensive 5G network footprint in the country. This accomplishment comes as part of Jazz's ambitious plan to expand its network to 2,500 sites by the end of 2026. Jazz's journey began with 5G deployment across nearly 180 sites in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, and Faisalabad.

The network has since expanded to include Sialkot and Gujranwala, bringing 5G coverage to a total of 10 cities across the nation.

Kazim Mujtaba, Jazz's President, expressed his satisfaction with the swift progress, stating that reaching 1,000 5G sites so quickly demonstrates the company's commitment to delivering advanced connectivity solutions to more Pakistanis. As Jazz aims to reach 2,500 sites by the end of the year, the focus remains on enhancing digital experiences through improved capacity, faster speeds, and more reliable connectivity, while also enabling new services and use cases as 5G adoption continues to grow.

Khalid Shehzad, JazzWorld's Chief Technology Officer, emphasized the importance of building a versatile 5G network capable of meeting diverse connectivity needs throughout Pakistan. By leveraging a multi-band spectrum and advanced radio technologies along with modernized infrastructure, Jazz has achieved superior coverage and capacity.

The network is well-positioned to handle the increasing demands of 5G services, thanks to the company's strategic acquisition of spectrum in the 2026 auction. Jazz secured an additional 190 MHz of spectrum across four bands—700 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2600 MHz, and 3500 MHz—raising its total spectrum assets to 284.4 MHz. This spectrum expansion underscores Jazz's commitment to strengthening its network infrastructure and accelerating 5G deployment across Pakistan.

The path to this achievement has been supported by Jazz's USD 1 billion investment commitment announced following the successful spectrum auction. This investment is part of a broader strategy to enhance 5G deployment and strengthen Jazz's network infrastructure nationwide. To date, Jazz's total investment in Pakistan stands at USD 12 billion, underscoring the company's dedication to driving digital infrastructure development and connectivity across the country.
