Apple Announces New Education Center in Vietnam

Apple has announced the opening of a new Apple Education Center in Hanoi, Vietnam, aimed at enhancing training and skill development programs for employees throughout its supply chain in the region. This marks the first of its kind in the country and will commence offering courses this fall, operating in collaboration with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST).

Apple and its partners have already established nearly 20 educational programs for supplier employees in Vietnam. The courses will integrate both online and in-person learning, focusing on areas such as manufacturing, robotics, and automation technology. Additionally, the center will provide leadership and soft skills training designed to assist workers in advancing their current roles or transitioning into new career paths.

The new center is a result of Apple's commitment to the Supplier Employee Development Fund, a global initiative launched by the company in 2022. This fund has already allocated $50 million in support, leading to the delivery of over 9 million education and training sessions. More than 108,000 supplier employees have participated in Swift programming courses since 2017.

The fund also covers broader topics, including workplace rights education and health programs on fitness, mental health, and disease screening.
