In a recent interview, US President Donald Trump indicated that Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Chamenei is "severely injured" but not dead. Chamenei assumed the role of Supreme Leader after his father was killed at the beginning of the war. Since then, the younger Chamenei has not made a public appearance. The United States has announced plans to impose new sanctions on Iran, targeting the country's trade partners.

US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stated that anyone engaging in trade with Iran will face the full force of US power, aiming to cut off Iran from all sources of revenue. Mnuchin did not specify whether China, as the main importer of Iranian oil, would be included in these sanctions, only asserting that no one should test Washington's resolve.

Additionally, three more buildings in the Gaza Strip were hit after evacuation warnings. Israeli military officials claimed to have attacked two Hamas weapon storage facilities in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City and Deir al-Balah, based on prior warnings. They did not provide evidence and stated that military caches of Kalashnikov rifles, magazines, and other military equipment were found inside.

Iran continues to block passage through the Strait of Hormuz with threats and attacks on ships. This strait is a crucial route for oil, gas, and fertilizer exports from the Persian Gulf states, affecting the global economy. Iran demands that ships follow only the route designated by Tehran along its coast and has repeatedly declared that only the route approved by Tehran through the Strait of Hormuz is safe.
