2027: Tinubu shouldn’t chair APC Presidential Campaign Council – Ndume

Borno South Senator Ali Ndume has criticized President Bola Tinubu's decision to chair the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections. Speaking to Arise Television's Prime Time, Ndume argued that Tinubu, as the "product" of the APC, should not be the one selling the party's candidacy to the electorate. He maintained that the party's national chairman should lead such efforts.

Recalling Tinubu's recent move to constitute the Presidential Campaign Council and appoint himself as its chairman ahead of the 2027 polls, Ndume expressed disbelief, stating, "If I had the ear of Mr. President, he does not need to be the Presidential Campaign Council chairman." He questioned the party's strategy, advocating for state governors to head the presidential campaigns in their respective states, with a coordinating team to oversee their efforts.
