Inkues Zara: Tulisan tangan sepadan ‘Wina’

Zara Qairina, a Malaysian student, passed away on July 17, 2025, after being found unresponsive near his school dormitory around 4 a.m. The Coroner's Court today heard that forensic examinations of documents related to Zara's death showed similarities in handwriting to an individual known as "Wina". Forensic document examiner Tay Eue Kam stated that the handwriting on sheets Y9B, Y10A and Y10B matched Wina based on the findings on page 50i of the greenish journal "Love And Peace," marked as WK9.

When asked by Zara's defense attorney Joan Goh, representing one of the bullied teenagers involved in the case with Zara, Tay confirmed that the ink impressions on page 50i could possibly come from a lost or torn page or another page previously placed on top of page 50. However, the witness informed the court that they do not have a genuine sample of Wina's handwriting for comparison.

When asked if Wina exists or not, Tay replied, "I don't know." Tay also stated that Y9B, Y10A and Y10B were part of the same series of comparison analysis between notes from Y1A to Y15B. The report noted differences between the handwriting in Y9B, Y10A and Y10B and Zara's handwriting sample, but the examiner emphasized that the similarities and differences had been analyzed.

Zara passed away at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on July 17, 2025, after being found unresponsive in the school dormitory near his home at around 4 a.m. The forensic autopsy is scheduled to continue from September 7 to September 11, with forensic psychiatrist Dr. Chua Sze Hung and Assistant Document Examiner Nurul Atiqah Mohd Noh expected to testify again.
