GRA boss supports mothers’ hostel, donates pickup to Upper Denkyira East Police

Ghana Revenue Authority Commissioner-General Anthony Kwasi Sarpong, via the Boaduwaa-Sarpong Foundation, teamed up with the Emelia Ankomah Education, Health and Welfare Fund to back two projects in Upper Denkyira East Constituency. The initiatives involve building a mothers' hostel for Dunkwa-on-Offin Municipal Hospital and giving a brand-new pickup to the Upper Denkyira East Police Command.

Mr Sarpong took part in the sod-cutting for the hostel and handed over the vehicle to the police. The hostel aims to give caregivers, many of whom face tough living conditions when staying with hospital patients, safe and decent housing. The new pickup truck is set to boost the police command's ability to respond to emergencies, patrol the area, prevent crime, and carry out other security duties.

The ceremonies were attended by Denkyira's Paramount Chief and officials from health and security sectors, underscoring the projects' importance to healthcare, social welfare, and public safety. Mr Sarpong, who is from the area, pledged his dedication to projects that improve the lives of people in his community. He said he remains committed to practical interventions that address residents' needs, highlighting the importance of collaboration between philanthropic organisations, community leaders, and public institutions in tackling local development challenges.

Neighbors welcomed the initiatives as tangible investments in healthcare, social welfare, and community security, saying they could boost residents' quality of life and strengthen essential public services. Mr Sarpong sees the projects as a tangible way to give back to his community and contribute to its development.
