Gatanga MP rubishes TSC response to Wetang’ula’s teacher jobs claims

Gatanga MP Edward Muriu has dismissed the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) response to claims by Speaker Moses Wetang’ula that MPs receive teacher employment letters from President William Ruto. Muriu criticized the TSC’s statement, saying the denial does not alter the reality of the situation. The TSC had released a circular on August 27, 2026, stating that Wetang’ula’s assertion that the President gives MPs teacher employment letters was false and misleading.

According to the Commission, recruitment and employment of teachers are solely their constitutional responsibility. However, Muriu argued that the denial does not address the allegations made by the Speaker, accusing the Ruto administration of using government jobs to reward political supporters. He claimed that the practice is not limited to teacher recruitment but extends to other government institutions like the police and military.

Muriu also alleged that jobs were being used to compensate or reward MPs who support the government, suggesting that President Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza administration are failing to deliver promised development projects in constituencies. The MP concluded his post by directly attacking the President, stating that the Kenya Kwanza Government is one of Kenya's worst dreams and that removing him should be a priority for every Kenyan patriot.
