Fire at textile shop in Arakkonam

A fire broke out at a textile shop on Gandhi Road in Arakkonam town, Ranipet on Thursday morning. Workers discovered thick smoke emanating from the shop's electrical box around 9 a.m., owned by 53-year-old resident Mohammed Iqbal. Despite their efforts to extinguish the flames, the fire quickly spread to the entire electrical unit.

Firefighters from Arakkonam town arrived promptly to douse the blaze. Fortunately, stocks and goods worth approximately ₹25 lakh were saved, according to sources. A case has been registered against the incident. Police suspect an electrical short circuit may have caused the fire and are conducting a probe.
