EPL: Nelson leaves Arsenal after 18 years

Arsenal has announced the termination of Reiss Nelson's contract, marking the end of his 18-year tenure with the club. The 26-year-old winger will become a free agent following the immediate effect of the termination. Nelson joined Arsenal's academy as a young player and progressed through their youth system before signing a professional contract in December 2016.

During his time at the club, he made 90 first-team appearances, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists. Nelson was part of Arsenal's FA Cup-winning squad in 2020 and also contributed to the club's victories in the FA Community Shield in 2017 and 2020.

Throughout his career at Arsenal, Nelson had four loan spells, including a season with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in 2018/19, followed by stints at Feyenoord in the 2021/22 season, Fulham in the 2024/25 season, and final season with Brentford last year. Arsenal expressed their gratitude towards Nelson, thanking him for his contribution to the club and wishing him well for the future.
