Stella, one of Dolly's 11 siblings, highlighted how Dolly was a beacon of generosity until the very end. She recalled Dolly expressing her wish to allow medical professionals to try experimental drugs, even if there was no hope for her, in the hope of helping others in the future. Stella thanked fans for their love and respect shown to Dolly's family since her passing and encouraged people to honor her legacy by continuing her kindness, uplifting others, and giving more of their time and resources.

Dolly died after a brief battle with cancer, less than a year and a half after the loss of her husband of nearly six decades, Carl Dean. She left the world a better place, and Stella called upon everyone to follow her example.
