Cybercrooks jet off with Manchester Airports Group customer data

Manchester Airports Group (MAG), operator of Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands airports in the UK, has announced a cybersecurity incident resulting in the theft of customer data. The affected information includes email addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registrations, and postcodes collected during car parking, lounge and fast track bookings, as well as public Wi-Fi services.

While 8.7 million customers were impacted, most only had their email addresses compromised. MAG has assured there is no danger of visiting its airports and that no operational disruption or passenger safety has been affected. The company has immediately contained the risk, informed relevant authorities and temporarily revoked access to its Manage My Booking service.

MAG emphasizes its commitment to customer information security and apologizes for any inconvenience caused. Affected individuals are advised to remain vigilant against phishing attempts.
