Cometas infantiles llegadas desde Gaza: el nuevo motivo para las amenazas de Israel

Infantile kites originating from Gaza have become a new reason for Israeli threats following Hamas's attack in October 2023. Even if they are, as in recent weeks, just children's kites, they have been falling onto the kibbutzim of Beeri and Nahal Oz, situated less than a kilometer from the Gaza Strip. Over the past month, a dozen have landed, prompting Israel's government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, to accuse Hamas of a strategy to test the limits of Israeli tolerance.

On Sunday, the government threatened to assassinate those responsible and forcibly expel the population from the areas from which the kites originate. Four days later, the Peace Council, chaired by Donald Trump, reaffirmed Israel's stance and called for an end to "all militant activity" in the Palestinian enclave, including the flying of kites.

In Gaza, images have emerged of angry adults breaking kites or children crying for the inability to fly them. Popular committees managing shelters and refugee camps urge parents to prevent their children from playing with them "to protect their innocent lives."
