Casting News: Penn Badgley's Killer Prime Video Drama, Aquamarine Star Returns For Disney+ Series, And More

Two years after concluding his role as the deadly Joe Goldberg in Netflix's "You," Penn Badgley is set to return to the thriller genre. Prime Video has inked a deal for a series adaptation of Benjamin Stevenson's 2022 novel "Everybody in My Family Has Killed Someone," with Badgley taking on the lead role of Ern Cunningham. The story, set in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, revolves around Ern, a mystery-writing aficionado, who reluctantly attends a family gathering to welcome his brother Michael back from prison - a brother Ern had previously assisted in convicting.

The official synopsis reads, "When a frozen body surfaces and a snowstorm ensnares everyone indoors, the killings start to escalate. Given that everyone in his family has already taken a life either incidentally or otherwise, the tension escalates." David Hemingson, known for "Whiskey Cavalier," will serve as showrunner, alongside Badgley, Stevenson, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, and Jeanne Snow.

Hemingson expressed his excitement about the project, stating, "I'm thrilled to be partnering with Fifth Season and Made Up Stories to bring Ben's heartfelt and darkly comedic whodunit to life. And we are fortunate to have Penn as our lead. There's no actor better suited to embody Ern's intensity, brilliance, and dry wit."
