Babar Azam says he is 90% fit for crucial Lord's Test

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has declared himself fit to return from injury and lead the side during the second Test against England at Lord’s. The 31-year-old has been suffering from a hand injury and missed the opening Test in Leeds, which Pakistan lost by an innings and 103 runs. Babar trained hard over the past few days and is now 90% fit for the upcoming match.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Babar expressed his honor at leading Pakistan at Lord’s and said he will do his best, whether on the field as captain or in the batting lineup. The team captain did not rule out Azan Awais being replaced in the batting order, as the inexperienced opener is likely to be shifted to accommodate Babar's return.

Babar confirmed that Abdullah Shafique will continue to bat at No 4, as he has shown confidence there since his comeback. The Pakistan captain is confident that his team can improve in the second Test and level the series at 1-1, acknowledging England's strong performance in the first Test.
