Argentina stick with same team that rattled Springboks for Australia test

The Wallabies have a refreshed starting forward pack for their upcoming Test match against Argentina. Coach Les Kiss has introduced a new lineup featuring Allan Alaalatoa as captain, replacing the usual captain Harry Wilson. The starting backline remains unchanged from their recent victory over Japan. Isaac Kailea makes his first appearance at loosehead prop after a two-year hiatus, while Brandon Paenga-Amosa starts at hooker.

Usual starting flanker Rob Valetini lines up at number eight, with Tom Hooper making his debut at blindside flanker. Queensland Reds star Fraser McReight takes up the openside flanker position, having played off the bench in their last match against Japan. Argentina, on the other hand, retains the same starting lineup that they faced in their recent defeat to world champions South Africa.

Captain Julián Montoya, flanker Marcos Kremer, and backs Mateo Carreras, Santiago Chocobares, and Bautista Delguy are all unavailable due to injury. Juan Martin Gonzalez, Juan Cruz Mallia, and Pedro Rubiolo, who also faced the Wallabies earlier this year, are also injured. The Wallabies are currently on a three-Test winning streak, while Argentina has only won one out of their four Tests played in 2026.
