Adun PH gesa kerajaan N Sembilan pertimbang arahan pulang peruntukan

Nilai J Arul Kumar, an Adun from Pakatan Harapan in Negeri Sembilan, has urged the state government to reconsider the directive for them to return the funds they received before the state assembly's dissolution on June 5th. Kumar stated that all Adun use a portion of the funds for the welfare of the people, with some even using the entire amount, as reported by Sinar Harian.

Upon receiving the funds, they are distributed to individuals or organizations such as schools, associations, neighborhood welfare committees, and village safety and development committees. Kumar clarified that these funds are not used for personal gain or political purposes, but are used for community activities. During a media briefing in Seremban yesterday, Negeri Sembilan's former Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim stated that 17 former Adun PH and two DUN coordinators under the previous state government must return the funds of RM150,000 for August and September, received one day before the dissolution, while 10 former Adun PH and two Labu and Paroi DUN coordinators must return funds of RM174,000 and RM150,000 for July to September, respectively.

Kumar admitted it would be difficult to return such a large amount of funds, which are allocated annually rather than monthly. According to him, all former Adun PH and two coordinators have submitted financial reports to the Chief Minister's Office as required, while the remaining funds have been returned before July 10th. Kumar said he will meet with the Chief Minister to seek further clarification on the matter after receiving a formal letter from the state government.

He also hopes the state government will review all financial reports and expenditure proofs submitted.
