6 didakwa merusuh guna senjata di Klang

Six men were brought before the Klang Magistrate Court accused of assaulting someone using weapons at a premises in Jalan Chan Ah Choo, Pandamaran, Selayang Baru, on August 22nd. Five pleaded not guilty, while the sixth pleaded guilty and received a RM2,000 fine. Ng Shen Hua, 22; Low Yong Xian, 24; Ng Shen Wei, 25; Tio Ec Tao, 23, and Lim Aik Wei, 18, made their pleas after the charges were read to Magistrate Siti Zubaidah Mamat.

Ho Zhen Yang, 26, who also pleaded guilty, faces a RM2,000 fine or two months in prison if he fails to pay. They were charged with using a bat and a baseball bat as weapons to injure a 22-year-old man at a premises in Jalan Chan Ah Choo, Pandamaran, Selayang Baru, around 11:30 PM on August 22nd. The prosecution demanded a five-year jail term or a fine or both under Section 148 of the Penal Code for assault.

Later, Deputy Prosecutor Mohammad Uzzair Rosman sought a joint sentence for Ho, while his lawyer Nur Husnina Ahmad requested a RM1,000 fine, citing his wife, three children, and a job as a warehouse worker earning around RM3,000 a month. Nur Husnina also said Ho suffered injuries, including eye swelling and facial swelling, before reporting the incident to the police and receiving hospital treatment.

For the other five, Mohammad Uzzair offered RM5,000 bail each with additional conditions to report to the police station once a month. However, lawyer T Lavin, representing the five, requested the bail amount be reduced due to his children's minor age and their need to support their mother, father, or grandparents. The court eventually allowed the five to be released on bail of RM1,500 each with a surety, and set a date of November 4th for a re-schedule of the case.
