6 didakwa merusuh guna senjata di Klang

Six men were summoned to the Klang Magistrate's Court for allegedly using weapons to harm someone at a premises in Jalan Chan Ah Choo, Pandamaran, Port Klang on August 22. Among the six, five pleaded not guilty in the previous week's court session, while the remaining one was fined RM2,000 after admitting guilt for the same offense.

Ng Shen Hua, 22; Low Yong Xian, 24; Ng Shen Wei, 25; Tio Ec Tao, 23, and Lim Aik Wei, 18, all made their confessions after the charges were read out to Magistrate Siti Zubaidah Mamat. Ho Zhen Yang, 26, the remaining accused, was given a fine of RM2,000 or two months in prison if he fails to pay the fine. According to the charges, they were accused of using sticks and cricket bats as weapons to cause injury to a 22-year-old male at a premises in Jalan Chan Ah Choo, Pandamaran, Port Klang, around 11:30 PM on August 22.

They were charged under Section 148 of the Penal Code, which carries a sentence of up to five years in prison or a fine or both, if negligent. Earlier, Deputy Prosecutor Mohammad Uzzair Rosman sought a joint sentence for Ho, while attorney Nur Husnina Ahmad, representing Ho, sought a RM1,000 fine due to Ho being a father of three children and a logistics worker at a warehouse earning around RM3,000 a month.

Nur Husnina stated that Ho also suffered injuries in the incident, including eye swelling and boils on his head, before filing a police report and receiving treatment at the hospital. For the other five accused, Mohammad Uzzair offered a RM5,000 bail for each accused along with a condition to report to the police station once a month.

However, attorney T Lavin, representing the five accused, requested a reduction in bail due to their young children and argued that some of them need to support their parents or grandparents. The court then granted bail to the remaining five accused at RM1,500 each with a surety and set the next hearing for November 4.
