55 Ukrainian citizens reported missing following flood and landslide in Nepal – Foreign Ministry

Following a flood and landslide in Nepal, 55 Ukrainian citizens are among more than 1,000 people reported missing, according to the Foreign Ministry. The disaster has left at least 165 people dead. Among the missing are two tour groups of 47 and seven Ukrainians, as well as a Ukrainian female tourist with a foreign group. Local authorities warn of the ongoing search and rescue efforts, citing challenging weather conditions.

Embassies of Ukraine in India and China have issued safety recommendations to their citizens. Ukrainian diplomats are coordinating with local authorities and embassies to locate the missing, including through direct travel to the disaster zone. No information has been provided on the status of Ukrainian citizens among the casualties or injuries.

The situation is under special control by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of Consular Service, and Embassies of Ukraine in India and China.
