We lost a brother, Dele Odule mourns late colleague Ogogo

Veteran Nigerian actor Dele Odule has mourned the loss of his longtime friend and colleague, Taiwo Hassan, widely known as Ogogo. In a touching tribute on his Instagram account, Odule described the passing of his friend and brother of nearly four decades as an incomparable void that no words could fill. The longtime friends had forged a bond that transcended friendship, turning into a brotherhood that lasted for nearly four decades.

Odule shared nostalgic videos of their fun moments together, including dancing at social events. He extolled Ogogo's immense contributions to Nigerian theatre and his pride in his Ilaro heritage. The actor also lamented the national mourning that followed Ogogo's passing, with fans, colleagues, and the people of his hometown in Ilaro rallying to honor his memory.

Odule recalled their iconic trio alongside veteran actor Yinka Quadri and expressed his personal grief over the void left by Ogogo's departure. The tribute came after Ogogo's burial in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, where he was laid to rest according to Islamic rites. He was among the Nollywood stars who attended the funeral.
