UPTET Result 2026 Out: 5.71 Lakh Qualify in Primary, 7.59 Lakh in Upper Primary

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) announced the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 results on August 26. A total of 5.71 lakh candidates qualified at the Primary Level (Classes 1 to 5) while 7.59 lakh candidates cleared the Upper Primary Level (Classes 6 to 8) examination.

At the Primary Level, 7,13,648 candidates appeared out of which 5,71,435 or 80.07% qualified. The Upper Primary Level saw 10,57,021 candidates giving the test, with 7,59,513 or 71.85% candidates qualifying.

For working teachers who took the test, the results are also out. Out of 1,22,405 working teachers who sat for the Primary Level, 93,387 or 76.29% have passed. At the Upper Primary Level, among 1,46,394 working teachers who appeared for the exam, 1,13,384 or 77.45% qualified.

To check the UPTET Result 2026, candidates need to visit the official UPESSC website at upessc.up.gov.in. They should then enter their roll number and password to access their results. The results display a candidate's qualifying status and other details. The results can be downloaded and saved for future reference.

The UPTET 2026 exam was conducted in five shifts over three days - July 2, 3, and 4 - at 955 centres across 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh. A total of 19,94,661 candidates registered for the exam. The commission used a normalisation process to evaluate the candidates' performance fairly. The Primary Level is for those seeking to teach Classes 1 to 5, while the Upper Primary Level is for teaching eligibility in Classes 6 to 8.
