Sunderland sign French defender Laplacette

Sunderland have officially added French defender Tess Laplacette to their squad on a permanent basis. The Lady Black Cats revealed the news via a statement on their official website. The 27-year-old signed with Sunderland following a stint with French club Olympique de Marseille, specifically in the Première Ligue. Laplacette has spent a total of eight years with Marseille, securing two promotions during her time with the team.

Her international career includes appearances for the French youth teams, with caps at the Under-17 and Under-19 levels. The experienced defender is set to bring her expertise to Sunderland as they aim to secure promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League during the current season.
