British actor Tim Curry passed away at the age of 80, leaving a remarkable legacy in the entertainment industry. Curry, known for his diverse roles in films such as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Muppet Treasure Island, and Home Alone 2, was celebrated worldwide for his performances. News of his death was announced on August 26, 2026, by his long-term manager and friend Marcia Hurwitz.

Curry had been dealing with a severe stroke in 2012, which left him wheelchair-bound and affected his speech. Despite these challenges, he continued to work, notably returning to his role as the narrator in the 2016 Rocky Horror remake. Born on April 19, 1946, in Grappenhall, Cheshire, Curry graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in English and drama in 1968.

He rose to fame after joining the original cast of the musical Hair in London and later starred in the 1975 film adaptation, which catapulted him to stardom.
