Seven injured in science experiment explosion at Yala school

Seven individuals, including five young students and two educators, sustained injuries when alcohol ignited during a science experiment at a Yala school on August 26. Authorities in Yaha district learned of the accident around 11:30 AM. The incident transpired in a Year 2 classroom within the Tachi subdistrict. The five injured pupils consisted of four boys and one girl, while two female teachers were also hurt.

Initial reports suggested that two of the seven individuals faced serious injuries; one sustained an eye injury, and another experienced chest trauma. Neighbors assisted in relocating the wounded away from the scene following the explosion. They were initially transported to Yaha Hospital for evaluation and stabilized before being transferred to Yala Hospital for continued monitoring.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the explosion and the specifics of the science experiment underway at the time. As of now, no additional details about the accident's circumstances have been disclosed. Officials are persisting in their investigation and keeping a close eye on the injured. In a separate incident, a TikTok user shared a warning after an alcohol spray device caused an unexpected explosion and subsequent fire in their home.

The device was plugged in for charging without any alcohol inside. Surveillance footage captured the event at the friend's residence, showing a plume of smoke and an explosion.
