‘Rocky Horror’ star Tim Curry dies at 80

Tim Curry, the English actor renowned for his portrayal of Dr Frank-N-Furter in the cult classic musical film The Rocky Horror Picture Show, has passed away at the age of 80, according to TMZ. The actor had been battling health issues for over a decade following a debilitating stroke. Curry began his career in London's West End theatre district, initially playing the gender-bending mad scientist in Rocky Horror prior to reprising the role in the 1975 film.

This film continues to be a staple of midnight cinema showings over 50 years later. Beyond his role as Dr Frank-N-Furter, Curry also portrayed the sinister clown Pennywise in a 1990 television mini-series adaptation of Stephen King's It, as well as appearing in films such as Annie, Clue, and Charlie's Angels.
