Rashid Pelpuo welcomes new role, thanks Mahama for keeping him in government

Dr Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, a Member of Parliament for Wa Central, has welcomed his new role within the government following a recent reshuffle. Having served as Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, Dr Pelpuo has been reassigned to the Office of the President as Minister of State in charge of Special Initiatives.

The announcement came on Wednesday, August 26, via a post shared by Dr Pelpuo. He expressed his gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for keeping him in government, stating that he is "overwhelmed with calls all over the country and especially from the Upper West Region" regarding his reassignment. Dr Pelpuo emphasized his willingness to embrace the new role and thanked the President for retaining him to help advance the administration's agenda.

The Minister reaffirmed his commitment to public service, stating that "delivering on the government's promises remains my priority." The reassignment is part of changes announced by the Presidency, with Dr Pelpuo set to replace Emmanuel Agyekum at the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment.

The new portfolio at the Office of the President will focus on Special Initiatives, as the Mahama administration continues to work towards implementing its development agenda.
