QB Tommy Castellanos commits to No. 12 Texas Tech with court-granted 5th season of eligibility

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Quarterback Tommy Castellanos has committed to play at No. 12 Texas Tech this season, according to ESPN. This comes after transfer Brendan Sorsby was declared ineligible due to gambling. The Big 12 ruling makes it uncertain if Castellanos will be able to play for the defending league champion Red Raiders. He previously played at Florida State where he was undrafted and went through a rookie minicamp with the Miami Dolphins. Castellanos was granted a fifth season of eligibility by a court last week.
