Police arrest two suspects over alleged lynching at Daboya

The Savannah Regional Police Command has apprehended two individuals in connection with the alleged lynching of a young man in Daboya, North Gonja District, Savannah Region. The suspects, 25-year-old carpenter Adjei Abdulai and 22-year-old student Issah Mahama, were apprehended following an investigation into the incident, which was documented in a video shared via social media.

Authorities assert that preliminary findings suggest the victim, identified as Yibonwura, was violently attacked and gravely injured after being falsely accused of stealing sheanuts. The victim subsequently succumbed to the wounds inflicted during the assault. In a press release on August 26, the Savannah Regional Police Command announced the arrests, stating that they are currently in custody and cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The police further disclosed that a third individual linked to the incident remains at large, prompting an ongoing manhunt. Police investigators are actively pursuing the elusive suspect as they strive to ascertain the complete details of the alleged attack. The Command remains steadfast in identifying all individuals involved in the incident and ensuring that they face legal consequences, emphasizing their commitment to bringing every party connected to the crime to justice.
